Inspired by the pride of the North Shore, Boston Beef by the Sea brings 45 years of experience in the beef industry and the famous “roast beef sandwich” to Fort Lauderdale!
This regional favorite was historically found in “mom and pop” family-owned businesses located only in the area north of Boston. The sandwich was created with warm, thin-sliced, top-choice beef on a warm, toasted bun and served with the famous James River barbeque sauce. Or, some locals prefer it “3 way” with sauce, white American cheese and mayo.
John Makrakis created his version of sandwich in 1974, when he founded John’s Roast Beef & Seafood in Lynn, Massachusetts. Then in 1985, George Nikolakopoulos bought the family-owned business from John, and along with his wife Maria and three children Dimitra, Taso and Peter, re-established John’s as one of North Shore’s premier roast beef establishments.
Today, Taso along with his partners Carlo and Franca are excited to bring the “beef game” and his (or their) award-winning roast beef sandwich to South Florida, with Fort Lauderdale as the first of many locations to come!
